Our green slate chippings are a very popular and attractive decorative gravel that has many uses around your garden. This slate can be used in and around water features, as a weed suppressant or to enhance your paving project as a decorative border. The strong green shade is ideal for adding a touch of class and colour. Available in jumbo bulk bags, half jumbo bulk bags or 23kg small bags - see our bag size guide below. Main image shows product when wet. Please note, this product is not suitable for driveways. Some colour variance may be present and there may also be occasional inclusions of other colours of slate, as well as smaller pieces of slate, white quartz or iron inclusions known as pyrites, which may appear as rust patches on the stones. These are entirely natural occurrences. All advertised stone sizes are nominal and some variation may occur. 

Coverage

The average depth of gravel required for borders, footpaths or decorative garden areas is 50mm, however it may be a good idea to increase this to 75mm for driveways. We highly recommend using our helpful aggregate calculator to approximate the amount required for your project. Please note that these coverage measurements do not allow for compaction. 

• A full 850kg jumbo bulk bag will cover approximately 10-12m² at a depth of 50mm.
• A 450kg half jumbo bulk bag will cover approximately 5-6m² at a depth of 50mm.
• You'll need approximately three 23kg small bags to cover 1m² at a depth of 50mm.
