Bring Effortless Style to Your Garden with Composite Decking

In our often fast-paced world, people are seeking more and more ways to find stylish solutions for their gardens that offer practicality and ease of care. This is why composite decking is becoming an increasingly popular choice over real timber.

Composite decking, sometimes known as plastic decking, allows you to create a stunning addition to your garden, without having to worry about the on-going maintenance and some of the other problems that can be associated with timber – such as warping, splintering, staining, rotting and becoming slippery and dangerous in wet conditions.

At AWBS we offer a wide range of composite decking from some of the leading brands, including Millboard and Trex.

What is composite decking?

Decking is a popular choice for many people who want to create a multi-functional space in their garden – whether that be a large outside area or a small courtyard. Historically, decking has been made with timber, which can rot, fade, stain and lose its appeal over time. This is where composite decking comes into its own – a fabulous alternative that looks just as good as the real thing, but without any of the problems.

Why choose composite decking boards?

If you want style without hassle, then composite decking is for you. While timber decking is a great choice for some, it doesn’t offer the practicality and ease of care that composite decking does. For one, it’s easy to look after, which is perfect for those who want a stylish outside area but don’t have the time to maintain it. It’s also great for family homes as it’s hardwearing and non-slip decking is perfect for families with children and pets.

Millboard decking

Carbonised Charred Oak plastic decking boards by Millboard

We’re proud to have been approved stockists for Millboard decking for over three years, and we’ve seen the popularity of this type of product grow hugely in this time. While often referred to as composite decking, Millboard decking doesn’t contain any food fibres, like other kinds of composite decking do. It’s actually made from wood-free polyurethane, combined with a mineral stone to create a unique resin mineral board. Inspired by the beauty of nature, Millboard decking looks remarkably like real wood, but doesn’t rot, retains its high-slip resistance even when wet and needs no maintenance other than a simple wipe clean.

It’s available in eight colours, ranging from the light tones of Limed Oak, to the dark hues of Burnt Cedar. For a beautifully worn effect, the Weathered Oak collection of three stunning colours is moulded from 100-year-old reclaimed wood for a timeless look. Combining a beautiful appearance with a unique enhanced textured design, the Lasta-Grip® composite decking offers the ultimate in slip-resistance making it the perfect choice for areas where safety is paramount.
