Why use decorative gravel?

Decorative gravel is a versatile product, it can be used in many useful ways around the garden including but not limited to:

Improving Drainage

Since water can flow freely through gravel, it’s a great alternative for paving in areas that are at high risk of flooding.

Alleviate Moisture Evaporation

Slate is an attractive stone with which to decorate flower beds and borders, but it can also play a significant part in prevent moisture evaporation. Helping to keep plants healthy in warmer months and reducing water usage. We offer slate chippings in green, grey and plumb colours, combine with TDP50 Landscape Fabric to suppress weeds.

Economical driveways

If you’re looking to upgrade your driveway then decorative gravel may be right for you, it’s much cheaper than block paving and looks much nicer than tarmac, especially when used in more traditional homes. We offer 15 types of gravel for driveways and the innovative TDP PorousPave grid system prevents gravel from spreading and makes creating a stable surface very easy.

Weed control and mulch

Using gravel in conjunction with weed control fabric in your garden borders will help suppress weeds by stopping the light getting through and will also act as a mulch ensuring the soil beneath doesn’t dry out during the summer months.

Creating paths

Adding a path to your garden can help break up large areas of grass as well as make your garden more accessible during the wet seasons and gravel is the perfect economical material for this. Our favourite gravel for this would be the traditional Cotswold yellow gravel.
